Application for the LERU Doctoral Summer School 2020

General information

Due to the corona pandemic, LERU will postpone the LERU 2020 Doctoral Summer School, scheduled for Dublin, 28 June-3 July, to a later date. Once the date is set, Graduate Campus will re-start the selection process. Please sign up for our newsletter to stay up-to-date.


The LERU Doctoral Summer School lasts one week and is organized at one of the member universities of LERU. The Graduate Campus covers the participation fee (including accommodation) and travel expenses (Economy) of the selected UZH participants.


LERU Doctoral Summer School 2020: "Reasserting the Value of the Expert"

The topic of the LERU Doctoral Summer School 2020 is “Reasserting the Value of the Expert". The School is organized by the Trinity College Dublin (TCD). Due to the Corona Pandemic, LERU Doctoral Summer School 2020, scheduled for Dublin, 28 June-3 July, will be postponed to a later date.


Participant requirements

Candidates for the summer school should be well advanced in their doctoral project and keenly motivated to work on the topic of the summer school. Candidates must be available for the entire duration of the summer school, and must be prepared to participate in all activities. All sessions will be conducted in English, and therefore fluency in both spoken and written English is essential.

Please include the following documents in your application:

  • Letter of motivation (see below)
  • CV
  • Title of your research project and name of your main supervisor(s)
  • Status of your dissertation project
  • Copy of your student card

Your letter of motivation should explain the following points: a) your interest for the topic of the summer school, b) what makes you a suitable representative of the University of Zurich.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
