paleontology: working place

The PhD students and postdocs of the working group "Evolutionary Morphology and Palaeobiology of Vertebrates" of the Paleontological Institute and Museum offered the participants of this first Science Trail an insight into their varied research: The guided tour through the fossil finds from the UNESCO World Heritage Monte San Giorgio was followed by a quiz about the domestication of our farm animals and how this helps us to understand evolution. After the trip to the giant rodents of South America, participants were able to learn how CT scanners can reconstruct the sensory perception of extinct organisms.

Many thanks to the junior researchers: Thodoris Argyriou, Juan Carrillo, Laura Heck, Christian Kolb, Ashley Latimer, Dr. Catalina Pimiento Hernandez, Tobias Reich, Kristof Veitschegger.
