On to Planet Digital!

When Neil Armstrong set his foot on the moon, humanity was convinced they had arrived in the future at last. In spite of this, the on-board computer of Apollo 11 with its 4KB of RAM is probably even less powerful than the chip in your washing machine. We've all become astronauts - on a light speed journey to Planet Digital.

But what will replace our compass in zero gravity? How fair is the algorithm deciding whether you receive an apartment? How much can you trust images if you can't even be sure that this text was written by a person? What is the connection between lava lamps and information privacy, and where does the raw material for our gadgets come from?

To answer these and more questions, 100 of the most creative people of the Zurich higher education institutions are inviting you to a survey of our planet.

A transdisciplinary lab for research and design

The Graduate Campus is creating a platform in cooperation with the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich that covers a wide range of topics:
In about 20 transdisciplinary collaborations between researchers and designers of the UZH, the ZHdK and the ZHAW, projects are launched on specific topics of digitalization. New methods between research and design are developed and innovative formats for the dialog with the public are put to the test in a setting with public appeal.
