Think, prompt, reflect: GenAI for academic research

Content
This workshop provides directors and coordinators of doctoral programs with a practical and critical introduction to integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) into the academic research process. Participants will explore current GenAI tools and reflect on the evolving role of the researcher in an AI-enhanced academic environment. The workshop will emphasise how researchers can use GenAI tools as thought partners, collaborating ethically and creatively without compromising academic integrity. The workshop will encourage critical reflection, responsible use, and a deeper understanding of how AI can support, but not replace, human academic thinking.

Workshop objectives
► Examine the evolving role of the researcher in AI-enhanced academia, with a focus on higher-order skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and ethical decision-making.
► Reflect on the ethical implications of using AI in research, including issues of authorship, originality, and academic integrity.
