Entrepreneurial Skills for Early Career Researchers

The action plan, which was approved by swissuniversities (Teilprogramm 1  «Aktionspläne zur Postdoc-Phase»), supports entrepreneurial early career researchers at the University of Zurich. In collaboration with the UZH Innovation Hub, Graduate Campus has developed a workshop series entitled “Entrepreneurial Skills”, and has integrated this series into the Graduate Campus Transferable Skills course program for the Fall Semester 2025.

Content and goal

The Entrepreneurial Skills workshop series offers researchers an easy introduction to innovation, covering topics such as impact potential, intellectual property, and funding for innovation projects. It provides researchers with the necessary skills and community to become an entrepreneur, test ideas with real users, and form a strong team.

Registration and certificates

Participants can register directly on the respective workshop website (click on title).

A certificate of participation will be issued for each workshop. When four or more certificates are achieved, participants may request a certificate for «Entrepreneurial skills» issued by the Graduate Campus and Innovation Hub.

1 ECTS Credit will be awarded (on request) to PhD candidates who have completed four or more workshops of the «Entrepreneurial skills» series.
