Preview Application Form GRC Career Grant/ Short Grant
GRC Career Grants and GRC Short Grants can only be applied for via the GRC tool. This guide provides an overview of the information required. The information is requested via an input mask. It is not possible to upload prepared documents instead of entering information in the fields.
The entries in the tool can be saved and the application completed in several sessions. The input mask opens when you click on “Edit request” in the application. Make sure to click “Save” each time after editing.

Overview of the input mask on the GRC tool
Input mask in the GRC tool for a Short Grant, the mask for a Career Grant looks identical, but has the title Career Grant.
In the following, the required texts are presented following the structure of the menu bar:
Table of contents
- Please note that you must enter the information on the main-applicant in a separate input mask (see image). Then, click on “Final submit of applicant data”. Once the personal details have been entered in full, the “Person data” button will turn grey.
Project
- Activity (Text input box, max. 700 characters)
- Goals / Results (Text input box)
Sustainability
The sustainability guidelines provide further information.
- Explain your considerations regarding the ecologically sustainable approach of the activity to be funded. (text input, 1500 characters max.)
- Explain your reasoning regarding the socially sustainable design of the activity to be funded. (text input, 1500 characters max.)
- Explain your reasoning regarding the academic sustainability of the activity to be funded. (text input, 1500 characters max.)
Added value
- Explain the added value of the activity for your academic career. (text input, 1500 characters max.)
- Explain the added scientific value of the activity. (text input, 1500 characters max.)
Budget

As soon as the invitation has been accepted, the “Invite” button appears grey and with the text “Complete” (see image).

A distinction is made between two types of costs, see budget planning guidelines.
Financial management:
The requested amount must be between CHF 5'000 and CHF 15'000 (Career Grant) or CHF 500 and CHF 5'000 (Short Grant).
For the financial processing of the grant, a cost center (Kostenstelle) of a member of the UZH professorial staff is required.

After entering the e-mail address in the request, you must invite the professorial member on the overview page of the request (see image).

Uploads
- Short academic CV (2 pages max., PDF format)
- Description of the activity/ Global budget (3 pages max.)
- Detailed schedule of the activity with milestones (PDF format)
- Justification for the persons or invited experts to be compensated (2 pages max., PDF format)
Submission
- Once you have completed the request, click “Submit” to submit the application. The request can then no longer be edited. The application can only be considered ‘submitted’ once you have received confirmation by email. If the “Submit” button is grey, information is still missing without which the application cannot be submitted.
