Anniversary event celebrating the 10th anniversary of Graduate Campus (on May 10, 2022)
Experts in the spotlight - that became the title of our anniversary event. Milo Puhan, as an epidemiologist, shared his experience in working with the public and added concrete tips on how to deal with the media. Young researchers opened the event with their video messages answering the question: "Are you an expert, and how?". The answers were well-reflected, sometimes with a wink: The role of expert is not awarded lightly in the academy, and it is quickly questioned by the public.
This makes it all the more important to recognize the development of young researchers: The FAN Awards annually recognize excellent research by early career researchers (more on the awardees). The awardees were present and their research projects were showcased individually. In addition, the winners of the UZH Mentoring Awards for outstanding mentoring / promotion of young researchers were honored and the awards were presented in person.
